It is with profound sadness that we inform you of the passing of our beloved Board Member, Ralph Penny. Ralph was a dedicated supporter of the YMCA of Central & Northern Westchester, and his contribution will always be remembered. He served as Board Chair for several terms and founded the Heritage Club, a planned giving program that has helped to secure the future of the Y. Ralph was a true embodiment of the Y’s core values of honesty, caring, respect, and responsibility, and his presence will be sorely missed.
On behalf of the Board of Governors and Staff, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, and loved ones. We pray that they find the strength to bear this loss and take comfort in knowing that Ralph’s legacy will continue to inspire us all.
In honor of Ralph’s unwavering commitment and dedication, we have decided to establish the Ralph Penny Award. The award will be bestowed annually by the Chairman of the Board of Governors, commencing in 2023. The award recognizes individuals or organizations that share Ralph’s core beliefs in the Y’s values and their positive impact on the community. We will present the award at our Annual Golf Outing, where we will acknowledge an individual or organization that represents Ralph by giving of themselves for the greater good.
Ralph will always be remembered as a devoted leader and a true champion of the YMCA of Central & Northern Westchester. We thank him for his service and dedication and extend our deepest sympathies to his family during this difficult time.
