The YMCA of Central & Northern Westchester uses a “build the whole person” model in our dynamic and unique teen programs. We have a variety of different programs to engage teens of all backgrounds and interests. These programs include:
2027 Youth & Government Annual Campaign; Give Youth a Voice
Bio: YMCA Youth & Government empowers high school students to become thoughtful, informed, and engaged citizens. Through hands-on experience in civic education, leadership, and public speaking, teens take on real-world roles in government—writing bills, debating policy, and learning the power of their voice. Each teen who participates in this program travels to the NY State Youth & Government conference in Albany, where they gather with 900+ teens from across the state to showcase their work at the NYS Capitol.
Your gift helps cover travel, training, and participation costs so all students can access this life-changing opportunity, regardless of their financial situation.

We offer a variety of work development programs through volunteering with the Y. Our CIT and JC programs allow teens to gain experience in a work environment while they are in a safe environment to make mistakes. These programs are currently offered during our Camp Combe Summer Program located in Putnam Valley, NY.
Teen Leader Spotlight: Sophia’s Gold Award Project
As part of her Girl Scout Gold Award, our Teen Leader Sophia created special calm-down spaces at Camp Combe to support emotional well-being. She also developed a helpful guide of calming strategies and resources to share with others. Explore her project here ➡️ Calm Down Resources.
