Our Teen Leaders had an inspiring and energizing experience this past weekend at the YMCA Teen Leaders Spring Rally at Camp Jewell. Centered around the theme Champion Leaders, the gathering brought together teens from across the region to explore what it truly means to lead with purpose, integrity, and impact.

Throughout the weekend, participants engaged in team-building activities designed to strengthen communication, trust, and collaboration. These shared experiences encouraged teens to step outside their comfort zones, support one another, and recognize the value of every voice in a group.

In addition to hands-on activities, teens took part in meaningful discussions focused on leadership in everyday life. Conversations challenged them to think about how they can be Champion Leaders for their peers, their schools, and their broader communities. They reflected on the importance of responsibility, empathy, and action—core qualities that help shape strong, confident leaders.

The weekend also provided space for connection and reflection. Teens built new friendships, shared ideas, and learned from one another in an environment rooted in encouragement and mutual respect. These moments helped reinforce that leadership is not only about guiding others but also about lifting people up and creating positive change together.

As the weekend came to a close, our Teen Leaders left Camp Jewell with renewed confidence and a deeper understanding of their role as community leaders. They returned home with practical skills, new perspectives, and a shared commitment to making a difference.

We are incredibly proud of our Teen Leaders and excited to see how they carry this momentum forward. Their energy, compassion, and commitment to growth continue to reflect the very best of the YMCA. As they bring what they’ve learned back to our Y and their communities, we know they will continue to inspire others and lead with purpose.
