The YMCA of Central & Northern Westchester is pleased to announce two grants that will help expand opportunities for the children and teens we serve. These investments support our commitment to making programs accessible, building leaders, and helping young people develop the skills and confidence they need to thrive.

The YMCA of the USA awarded our YMCA a $30,000 Out-of-School Time (OST) Program Access Grant to provide scholarships for our Before- and After-School programs. This funding will help make these programs more accessible to children, providing opportunities to learn, grow, build friendships, and develop new skills in a safe and nurturing environment. By helping reduce financial barriers, the grant supports our efforts to ensure more children can benefit from quality out-of-school programming.

We also received an $18,750 Civics Grant from Con Edison to support our Youth & Government program. This funding will help provide teens with opportunities to explore civic responsibility, strengthen their leadership skills, and gain a deeper understanding of how government works. Through Youth & Government, young people learn to express their ideas, consider different perspectives, and become more informed and engaged members of their communities. These experiences help prepare teens to take on leadership roles and make a positive difference in the world around them.

Both grants reflect the importance of investing in young people and creating opportunities for them to reach their full potential. Whether helping children participate in enriching after-school experiences or empowering teens to become thoughtful, engaged leaders, this support strengthens our YMCA’s ability to make a meaningful impact.

We are grateful to the YMCA of the USA and Con Edison for their generous support and commitment to our mission. Their investment helps us continue building a stronger community where children and teens are encouraged to learn, lead, and thrive.

At our YMCA, every opportunity matters. Together with our partners, we are building a brighter future for the next generation.
