The YMCA of Central & Northern Westchester was proud to celebrate Maryanne Russo, Lakeland Universal Pre-Kindergarten Director, as she was honored as a recipient of the Child Care Council of Westchester’s Early Education Hall of Heroes Award.
The special evening recognized Maryanne’s many years of dedication to early childhood education and her commitment to creating caring, supportive environments where children can learn, grow, and thrive. Through her leadership, passion, and dedication, Maryanne has made a lasting impact on the children and families she has served throughout her career.
Maryanne was joined at the celebration by Shana Jack, Assistant Director of Early Child Services, who helped celebrate this well-deserved recognition. The evening was made even more meaningful by the presence of two very special members of Maryanne’s family—her daughters, Lauryn and Kaitlyn, who are also proud members of the YMCA team.
Lauryn serves as a Teacher Assistant at Benjamin Franklin, while Kaitlyn is a Program Assistant at Yorktown. Having her daughters by her side was a wonderful reminder of the lasting impact of Maryanne’s commitment to children and early childhood education—and of the special connection the Russo family has with the YMCA.
The Hall of Heroes Award recognized Maryanne among early childhood education professionals whose dedication has made a meaningful difference in the lives of children and families throughout the community.
