We’re proud to share that our own Kayla Hendrickson, Director of School Age Child Care, will be featured as a panelist in an upcoming national conversation focused on the future of afterschool programming.

Hosted by Arux Software, Inc. in partnership with Foundations Inc., this virtual event will bring together afterschool and community education leaders from across the country on June 17. The discussion will highlight real-world insights and practical strategies to strengthen programs and better serve young people and families.

At the YMCA, we know that afterschool programs are about more than care. They are spaces where young people build confidence, develop meaningful relationships, and discover their full potential. Opportunities like this allow leaders to come together, share experiences, and learn from one another—ultimately strengthening the impact we can have in our communities.

During the session, panelists will explore key topics including enrollment and program growth, staffing and operational sustainability, family engagement, and funding and reporting. Participants can expect thoughtful dialogue, fresh ideas, and valuable connections with peers who are deeply committed to this work.

We’re honored to see Kayla representing our YMCA and contributing her expertise to a broader network of leaders dedicated to youth development. Her leadership reflects our commitment to creating inclusive, supportive environments where every young person has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.

If you lead or support an afterschool program, we encourage you to take part in this engaging and informative session.
