Updated Statues on the White Plains YMCA

April 1, 2019

Dear Member of the Y Community,

As we announced in April of last year, the YMCA of Central and Northern Westchester has made the decision to sell our building on Mamaroneck Avenue.  Given the unsustainable costs of maintaining this aging building, we felt this was our best option to continue offering our many services to our valued members.  It is our intent to move to a non-facility YMCA model leveraging other locations to bring existing and new services to our members. This model has proven extremely successful in other areas of the country within the Y network.

I wanted to make you aware of some important updates related to the sale of our building.   The sale is progressing and we now have an idea of when we will end services at the White Plains location.  Services for fitness members will end on June 30, 2019. If you are on a first of the month payment plan, June 1st will be your final payment.  If you are a 15th of the month payment plan, May 15th will be your final payment.

Please know that we have valued your membership at the YMCA and are grateful for your ongoing support.  As we seek alternative locations for our non-facility YMCA programs, we hope you’ll consider getting involved and supporting those activities.

Please do not hesitate to contact me or Tom Hay with questions. It is our commitment that we will continue to provide these updates to you and be as transparent with you as possible at all times.
